Quiana Gentle-Carmona, Psy.D. is a Post-Doctoral Psychology Resident. She earned her masters and doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Carlos Albizu University San Juan Campus in Puerto Rico, an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program. She received specialized training to provide individual, group, couples and family therapy for diverse clients of all ages socioeconomic status and cultural backgrounds. As well as psychological testing for diverse referral motives. She is fully bilingual in Spanish and English. Prior to graduate studies, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Science with a concentration in Psychology from The Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. Most recently, Dr. Gentle-Carmona completed her APA-accredited internship at the Miami-Dade County Community Action and Human Services Department (CAHSD) Psychological Services where she provided services in two rotations, Head Start and Violence Prevention and Intervention Division at the Coordinated Victims Assistance Center (CVAC).

 

Her specialized training was acquired from diverse settings, including but not limited to Department of Education of Puerto Rico Elementary School, The Help Center for Victims of Rape part of the Puerto Rico Health Department, University Counseling Center, and Community Mental Health Clinics. Throuough her training she focused and trained in providing psychological services to trauma survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse and human trafficking. Furthermore, Dr. Gentle-Carmona has gained experience and proficiency working with clients who present with diverse ages and symptomatology such as anxiety, depression, grief and interpersonal difficulties. Her work is guided by evidenced-based practices with a Biopsychosocial and Spiritual integrative approach. This model is a modern and holistic view of the human being that takes their many dimensions into consideration when providing psychological services. Lastly, in her provision of services she utilizes a collaborative and client-centered approach to fit the client’s needs, identifies goals of treatment as well as to foster the therapeutic relationship.
