Michelle Schultz Albano, Psy.D.

Licensed Psychologist

Dr. Michelle Schultz Albano is a Licensed Psychologist who offers psychotherapy and psychological testing services to children, adolescents, and adults. She earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University (an American Psychological Association accredited program) and has specialized training and expertise in the treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting challenges, eating disorders, grief, and adjustment to significant life changes. Dr. Albano has benefited from clinical experience in a variety of settings; including the Mailman Segal Center for Child Development, the Child and Adolescent Traumatic Stress Program at NSU, Psychological Services for the Emotionally Distressed at NSU, the Renfrew Center for Eating Disorders, Susan B. Anthony Recovery Center, the Faulk Center for Counseling, and the Center for Psychological Growth and Wellness. 


Throughout her training and career, she has developed specialized knowledge and expertise in evidence-based interventions; including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Play Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. She incorporates her knowledge of these interventions into an integrated psychotherapeutic approach so that she can meet the unique needs of each individual client. 

 

Dr. Albano’s approach is warm, supportive, and collaborative and she believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for success in therapy. She seeks to nurture this relationship by incorporating strategies designed to explore a client’s personal values and beliefs. With these in mind, she can work hand-in-hand with her clients to develop personalized treatment goals that are ideal for creating lasting growth and change.
